Sticks and stones
Cranberry Village and Living Water Resort and Spa hosted a golf and curling spiel with two rounds of golf and four draws of curling on September 29-October 1. The money raised goes towards a cause in Carapegua, Paraguay, as well as local initiatives. The project has been a “community building” concept where many of Journey Community Church’s congregation and Living Water Resort’s staff have become involved through fundraising and mission trips to the area. 27 houses have been built for families to date and the residents have also been provided fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and livestock. By supplying these items and teaching various skills, the residents have become empowered to be actively involved in the growth process of this vision. Currently Larry Law, owner of Living Water Resort, has undertaken the task of building a dormitory for students who wish to go to college, as well as funding a children’s home for those who in need.
