International Women’s Day (March 8) in Collingwood was celebrated with a lively and thought-provoking panel discussion and networking social at the Simcoe Street Theatre. The event highlighted four women with very different career and cultural backgrounds. Included were Asha Frost, an Anishinaabe (Ojibway) medicine woman, healther, and spiritual mentor; Lt. (N) Jen Martin, a member of the Canadian Armed Forces as a Maritime Surface Officer; Katherine Gyles, Executive Vice President of corporate strategy and talent for Parkbridge and Carolynn Wilson, who along with her sister Sylvia Wilson, own and operate the Sheffield Park Black History and Cultural Museum in Clarksburg.
