Celebrating 10 Years of Community Clean Up
The force was strong on May 4th for a community cleanup at Memorial Park in Meaford. It also marked a special day to celebrate 10 years of keeping the park beautiful for locals, campers, and tourists. Over 25 volunteers joined the cleanup and festivities, each sharing favourite memories and stories, with entertainment provided by Bill Monahan and Mike Belec, hot piping pizza by New Orleans Pizza, and delicious ice cream cake by Dairy Queen. Mayor Barb Clumpus and Rod Willis, Manager of Parks and Facilities also came to express their gratitude and praise. A big kudos to its main sponsor, The Meaford Independent, for supporting this event for nine years – always ready to share a cup of warm cider. “Thank you to all the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to help keep our park as beautiful as can be – by the community, for the community, near and far,” Marissa Dolotallas, Chair of Friends of Memorial Park.
