CLIMBING LAMP POSTS, LOUNGING ON BENCHES… IT’S A SCARECROW BOOK INVASION!
On October 4th, the 23rd Annual Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival held at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion marked the end of another wildly successful community event. This year’s theme celebrated books and the stories that helped shape our youth and our imagination. Wandering the downtown streets, the harbour and Station Hill, you’ll find close to 300 scarecrows including Atticus Finch, Anne of Green Gables, Huckleberry Finn, and Winnie the Pooh! The Scarecrow Parade and Family Festival was a flurry of fun and excitement with free activities and games for the whole family, apple pie contests, and live entertainment.
