Sticks & stones for homes

The 2nd Annual Sticks & Stones Golf Tournament was another sold out event with 100 people participating for the second year in a row. The event attracted a mix of locals and out of towners, with teams from Tillsonburg, Toronto, and even Oshawa. The event consisted of 2 1/2 days of competition that included 2 18 hole golf scrambles, and 4 draws of curling to decide the winner. There were closest to the pin challenges to decide some ties for playoff games, and the winner was crowned on a dramatic last rock “draw to the button” to win the championship. The winner team was Team Chris Lovell from Oshawa, who defended his title from last year. In total, the event raised just over $3500 for the Paraguay Missions Charity, that will be enough to fund the building of 3 houses in that area for families that would otherwise go without. The event was done in partnership with the Town of Collingwood and the Curling Club of Collingwood. Living Water Resorts was the Platinum sponsor and organizers.
