In 1999, The Creemore Coffee Company Inc. was started by Karen and David Nesbitt of Creemore, operating from an old church on Highway 124 in Melancthon as primarily a wholesale supplier to café’s & retailers. After a fulfilling career in fundraising, sales, marketing, as well as raising a family and operating a dog walking business, Louise Priest and her husband/partner Trevor purchased the company from the Nesbitt’s in 2019. The home of Creemore Coffee is now in the renovated community center beside the post office in New Lowell, boasting over 40 varieties of coffee, 15 hot chocolate flavours, and many teas to choose from.

Due to the pandemic, the focus has been curbside pick-up, online ordering and lots of shipping… until now. Wanting to be of value to the community and offer more than just freshly roasted coffees, they partnered with many of their favourite bakers from Toronto to bring their wonderful creations to Clearview. Now offering a variety of frozen baked goods including Gryfe’s Bagels (par baked), Fahmee Jamaican Patties, Parviz African Hand Pies and Pie Wood Fired Pizza’s (bake or BBQ from frozen) and Blueberry Buns. It’s easy to find that perfect treat that will put a smile on your face or give as a gift.

Creemore Coffee Company considers the environment in all business decisions, including the roasting of the coffee, the packaging of products and their partnership with Bullfrog Power. The roastery location was specifically chosen in a small rural community – allowing the ability to roast the beans without using an energy-intensive afterburner typically used in city production facilities. In addition, 95% of the products are Certified Fair Trade, organic and supports bird migration. which means better trading conditions and securing the rights of marginalized producers and workers in developing countries. Creemore Coffee Company is a proud supporter of The Cafe Femenino coffee program; a one-of-a-kind ethical sourcing model committed to ending the cycle of poverty afflicting women coffee farmers worldwide.

Trevor’s true passion has always been to spoil people with delicious food, making the purchase of The Creemore Coffee Company an attractive one. Coffee roasting is considered a culinary art, and Trevor’s coffee is outstanding. “We roast smooth, full-bodied coffees that are rich in flavour. We use high-quality, ethically sourced beans from around the world and lovingly roast them in small batches. The result is carefully crafted, beautiful coffee we’re proud to sell and to serve.”

The smell of our coffee roastery is out of this world, making our shop a very social and great place for our three part-time employees. We pay a living wage and fully support work/life balance with shorter workweeks. We are very excited to grow our little coffee roastery with our staff, and we are very grateful for everyone who has taken the time to stop at our store and enjoy our products. What sets us apart is our approach to coffee and food. We handcraft in small batches and price everything fairly. The response is magnificent.

Currently, they are having fun giving away coffee as samples to anyone interested to try it, encouraging patrons to bring their own cup. The goal is to open the Roastery Store & Bakery later this year, which will allow them to serve coffee and make available freshly baked items. Stay tuned for more information once they finalize dates.
