Over the last decade, Sarah Ritchie has been a voice in our region, speaking out for new and emerging technologies with a commitment to leading individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals, and organizations into the future of computer applications and online technology.
Sarah is well-known locally for teaching social media classes, website workshops and keeping our community apprised of emerging computer and digital advances.
As a natural connector who enjoys networking and helping entrepreneurs, Sarah is the Chapter Leader for FemCity’s Wasaga Beach Collective. In the past, she held leadership positions in Wasaga Beach Women’s Business Association, WINGS Networking, and Women with Vision. In 2016, she was recognized for her volunteer contributions with the Finest Citizen of the Year Award.
Growing up in Orillia and living for a time in Barrie, Sarah introduced our region to the benefits of social media and having an online presence through coaching individuals and teaching classes. During a down-economy, she created affordable do-it-yourself workshops like Build Your Website in a Weekend.
She also delivered many Technology Takeover Talks that explored emerging technologies such as wearable medical devices, digital currencies (i.e., Bitcoin), and opportunities to experience the world of virtual reality.
More recently, the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce has showcased Sarah’s work with their websites, events, ad designs, and promotions. She adapted her many skills to support the Chamber as it
pivoted to transform the way they do business today digitally. The Chamber has been recognized with the 2020 Canadian Business Award, Leading Advocates For Local Business Development.
In addition to her role with the Chamber, Sarah continues her work as a consultant and service provider. Her portfolio includes building websites for Georgian Life Media Inc., Siesta Sun Spa, The Prince of Peace Church, Wasaga Stairs, and many others. She also provides tech-based marketing services and digital solutions for social media, including email marketing, online advertising, and event support.
During the pandemic, Sarah’s online event management skills and technical expertise have been in high demand, both locally and by organizations like the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), Safety Services Atlantic, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Nursing Homes of Nova Scotia.
Sarah is known for her ability to train and coach entrepreneurs as well as organizations and their employees to master new skills using online meeting and conference tools like Zoom, Pheedloop, and Remo.
