The Village Green, a project of the Creemore Community Foundation, has created a community space, rich in history, which will be a people space and a regional landmark. On August 20th, The Village Green hosted its first major event – a ribbon cutting and grand opening of this wonderful space. The park’s features are a direct result of a community consultation when the Creemore branch of the TD Bank closed and then donated the land to the Foundation. The project grew in scope and resulted in a complete redesign. In addition to a new splash pad, the popular “Children’s Dress Up Dance” fountain has been restored and placed on its new base, and Ernest Herzig’s sculpture entitled “Harmony” has also been reinstalled. Creemore Horticultural Society has planted several new colourful flower gardens. This wonderful people space will surely become a meeting place which will attract kids of all ages to enjoy their picnic lunches amid such visual splendour.
