Established in 2002, Habitat South Georgian Bay continues to create stable and secure housing for hardworking local families.  Together with the community, Habitat for Humanity helps families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.  We’re passionate about building a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live, and we believe that it benefits all of society when they do.

Our Habitat homes are truly built with love, constructed by caring volunteers, with the support of dedicated, skilled Habitat for Humanity Staff.  We are currently in the process of building a home at 219 John Street, Stayner that will be home to a young couple and their two young boys.  We are in the home stretch, but we still need your help to cross the finish line.

In 2023, we will embark on our next build at 218 Christopher Street (right behind our current build site). We are accepting applications for this build – if you can afford a mortgage payment, but just don’t have the down payment, you may qualify for our home ownership program.

We could not do this without the support from individuals and businesses in our community.  Building a Habitat home takes many hands – and Habitat needs your financial support, your voice and your time. There are so many ways that you can get involved with Habitat for Humanity South Georgian Bay, from cash and product donations to volunteering at our ReStore or helping to build a Habitat Home (or helping our build volunteers stay nourished by donating a lunch or helping with our food program).

Whether you are a contractor or have never picked up a hammer in your life, we can use your help! Consider this an opportunity to meet new people while strengthening your community by building safe, affordable housing.  You’ll have the ability to improve the lives of people, work alongside future Habitat homeowners, learn different skills or advocate for affordable housing.

Together with the community, Habitat helps families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.

During the build, our dedicated construction volunteers, build participants and homeowner families are working alongside one another at our build site working on their homes and enjoying a meal together. As they work side by side and eat together, community grows, and people are engaged in the lives of others.

We provide lunch as a thank you for their hard work through the contribution of churches, community groups, restaurants and community-minded businesses. We welcome a prepared individually bagged/boxed lunch that your group can deliver to the build site (or we can pick it up) or a cash donation to order lunch for a build day (and eligible for a charitable tax receipt). Please contact us to let us know how you can help!
